PRETORIA - The corruption trial of former National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula resumes in the High Court in Pretoria on Friday with a key witness set to return to the stand.
Businesswoman Nombasa Ntshondwa-Ndhlovu admits to bribing the former Speaker and former Defence Minister.
She is received criminal indemnity on condition she testifies truthfully.
Ntshondwa-Ndhlovu will be detailing how she allegedly sought Mapisa-Nqakula’s intervention after a R104-million SANDF logistics tender was suspended.
The State alleges Mapisa-Nqakula accepted R4.5-million in bribes, which she denies.
Prosecutors are expected to call 28 witnesses in this high-profile trial.
