DURBAN - March and March can continue protesting.
The Durban High Court has ordered that the group can only protest from 9am to 3pm, on designated routes.
Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia brought an urgent application to stop the marches from continuing after protests turned violent.
March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma told the court the group was not responsible for the looting.
The matter hasn't been finalized yet and continues in January 2027.
In his ruling, Judge Peter Olson said his ruling does not decide whether or not there has been wrongdoing from March and March.
"I would like to make it absolutely clear to everybody, that the order I'm about to make does not decide that there has been any wrongdoing on the part of the first to seventh respondents [March and March]. That question is one to be answered ultimately next year early when this case will come before the court after everybody has had a chance to say what they want to say on affidavit.
"I am satisfied that the test for issuing a Rule Nisi, in other words, requiring the respondents to answer the state's attempt to make a case against them and for interim relief has in fact been achieved in this case. But that is not a decision that is final in any respect at all. It simply creates a holding pattern between now and when this court decides the case finally.
"I hope that is clear to everybody and that there should be no misrepresentation. In those circumstances."
