Masemola: Deal decisively with anyone who disrupts SONA

CAPE TOWN - Police National Commissioner General Fanie Masemola has directed officers to deal decisively with any disruptions at Thursday’s State of the Nation Address, without fear or favour.

Masemola addressed SAPS, SANDF and metro police during an integrated parade in Cape Town ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address.

“You are here to ensure that the President’s address takes place in a conducive and peaceful environment,” Masemola said.

“You must respect all laws and abide by the Constitution. Those who cross the line must be dealt with decisively, in accordance with the law. Do your work without hesitation. Make sure this SONA goes down in history as one that was policed well,” he added.

Several units, including the SANDF and Public Order Police, have been deployed to ensure smooth operations.
