LIMPOPO - ANC Limpopo chairperson Stan Mathabatha, wants to step aside from his position with immediate effect.
He's written to ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, communicating his decision to voluntarily stop leading the ANC in the province.
eNCA has seen a letter the former premier addressed to Mbalula, citing ongoing misconduct, and a departure from ANC values within the provincial structures.
While he did not go into details, Mathabatha emphasised that the move, is about preserving his integrity.
He also wants to distance himself from what he described as unethical conduct, happening under his leadership.
ANC Limpopo Spokesperson, Jimmy Machaka, has issued a response.
He says the authenticity of the letter could not be confirmed, and promises further communication once verified.
