Mchunu accepts and supports President's decision

JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu has been placed on leave of absence with immediate effect. 

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced this when he was addressing the nation on the allegations that KZN Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's made against Mchunu.

Mchunu has accepted the President's decision in a statement he released on his X account.

"I welcome and respect the President’s decision and pledge my commitment to the process. Honour and integrity are the virtues I personally subscribe to and which we all need to make efforts to uphold,' he said. 

Mchunu added that he is ready to respond to the accusations against him and account to the citizens of the South Africa.
