CAPE TOWN - Embattled Police Minister Senzo Mchunu says he sought legal advice before ordering the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team.
Mchunu insists the decision was legal and constitutional.
The police appeared before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee that's investigating corruption in the criminal justice system.

Meanwhile, Mchunu says he declined a meeting with KZN police boss Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and other senior officials because it would have gone against principle.
The minister also denied recording Mkhwanazi to serve as evidence for Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee.
He claims to have given the green light for conversations with Mkhwanazi to be recorded after receiving threats.
