Mchunu denies coercing Witness E to lie to Madlanga Commission

PRETORIA - Suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has denied allegations made by Witness E at the Madlanga Commission as inaccurate and untruthful.

During his testimony before the Commission earlier this week, Witness E alleged that Mchunu persuaded him to make a false statement to the Commission.

Mchunu allegedly promised that he “will be free and happy for the rest of your life” if he submitted the false statement. Witness E, however, rejected the request.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mchunu denied the allegations, including the interactions on Witness E’s statement.

“I’m aware that I am due to appear again at the commission and I will seek to respond.

"My lawyers are already dealing with the matter,” read the statement.
