JOHANNESBURG - ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula says ANC NEC member Senzo Mchunu has been relieved of party duties.
This is on the back of his appearance at the Ad Hoc Committee investigating corruption claims made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkwanazi.
Mchunu has also been placed on special leave as police minister.
Mkhwanazi has accused Mchunu of corrupt activities.

He says Mchunu has relations with alleged political fixer Brown Mogosti and suspected underworld kingpin Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala.
Mchunu is also under fire for his instruction to disband the Political Killings Task Team.
Last week, Mchunu handed over his devices to the SAPS.
