PRETORIA - The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes in the High Court in Pretoria.
The proceedings will focus on accused number 4, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, who is applying for a Section 174 discharge, asking for the charges against him to be dropped.
Maphisa maintains he had no involvement in the soccer star’s murder.
His four co-accused have abandoned similar bids.
Maphisa is already serving time for an unrelated offence.
Meyiwa was gunned down at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s Katlehong home in 2014.
The state alleges it was a premeditated hit, orchestrated by the singer herself.
