Missing journalist's family await DNA results

JOHANNESBURG - The discovery of two bodies believed to be those of missing journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, has left the family in shock.

On Thursday, National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola, said one of the suspects pointed them to a bush in Rust de Winter in Limpopo, where officers discovered human remains.

The couple's son, Treasure Mdhluli, says the family is still trying to wrap their heads around the latest developments.

"We are relieved that we are getting answers, but we are also shattered by these developments. With everything that was happening, we were still hopeful they would be found alive. Finding the remains is something we never expected,’ he said.

Police have not yet confirmed if it is the couple, but say DNA testing is underway.

Mdhluli said samples from him and other family members were taken for testing.
