MKP appoints Molefe as new Treasurer General, Makhubele sacked as Chief Whip

JOHANNESBURG - The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK Party) has appointed Brian Molefe as its new treasurer-general.

Molefe replaces Mpiyakhe Limba, who has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

Molefe, who is a former Eskom and Transnet CEOis currently a Member of Parliament replacing the MK Party in the National Assembly.

"Comrade Molefe brings with him extensive experience in public administration, governance, finance and organisational leadership. His proven track record, strategic capability and deep understanding of complex financial systems render him suitably qualified to assume this critical responsibility at this phase of the Party’s growth," the party said in a statement.

In another shocking move, the MKP has removed Colleen Makhubele as MK Party Chief Whip in the National Assembly.

She will remain a Member of Parliament.

The party has appointed Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi, the NCOP Chief Whip, to act in a caretaker capacity over the role of Chief Whip.

In conclusion, the MK Party has announced the lifting of the suspension of  Vanessa Calvert and her immediate reinstatement as Chief of Staff in the Parliamentary Caucus.
