Mogotsi retracts explosive CIA claims, apologises to Mkhwanazi and King Misuzulu

CAPE TOWN - Brown Mogotsi has made an about-turn on his claims that Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini are CIA agents.

Mogotsi made the claims at the Madlanga Commission, but he walked it back at the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee.

"I did not provide any tangible evidence. And I kept on saying, I'll bring information that must be corroborated. That's why I'm requesting that I should get this information and make sure that it gets corroborated,” Mogotsi said when he was questioned by the EFF leader Julius Malema on the CIA claims.

While at first, he was adamant that he would only retract the claims pending further evidence, Mogotsi ended up conceding that the claims were false.

He was then made to apologise for casting aspersions.

“I retract the statement on both General Mkhwanazi and King Misuzulu. I hereby apologise for casting aspersions,” he told MPs.
