JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police have arrested more than 900 suspects as part of it's Operation Shanela Two in Hillbrow and Bramley.
The operation led by provincial Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni kicked off on Wednesday with a total of 963 suspects arrested for various crimes, including Gender Based Violence.
Hundred illegal immigrants were also apprehended.
Mthombeni said: “In terms of operational activities, we managed to arrest 963 suspects of which 229 are gender-based violence perpetrators. Out of that for the week under review, we managed to have 101 convictions of which one was a life sentence."
