JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero remains unshaken as an axe hangs over his head.
This is as the Joburg council will debate motions of no confidence against the mayor, council speaker and chief whip on Wednesday and Thursday.
The DA says the economic heart of South Africa is falling apart under the current leadership.

Morero says this motion will not succeed and that the DA is using this campaigning strategy for the 2026 local government elections.
The mayor argues that they are responding to challenges within the City and have proof of that.
"There are several challenges in the infrastructure but the budget is speaking to some of the things we are doing in the new financial year to address those challenges," he says.
