PIETERMARITZBURG - A Pietermaritzburg mother has turned to the courts to challenge the burial of her son without her knowledge.
Bathobile Hlela is fighting for the right to bury her 20-year-old son at her homestead.

She alleges her son’s father buried the young man in secret last Sunday, despite a court interdict against it.
But, the family says they buried the young man in line with customs and not in defiance of the court order.
