JOHANNESBURG – Bellarmine Mugabe, the son of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, has been sentenced to a fine of R600,000 or two years in prison after violating firearms and immigration regulations.
Mugabe, alongside his cousin Tobias Matonhodze, appeared before the Alexandra Magistrate's Court to face the charges.
The court's ruling includes a directive to deport Mugabe from South Africa upon the conclusion of his sentence.

Matonhodze, who was co-accused in the case, was handed a three-year prison sentence.
Both men pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the shooting of an employee at Mugabe’s Hyde Park residence in February.
Following the completion of their sentences, both individuals are expected to be deported.
