Mulbarton kidnapping case postponed as police probe 12 boys’ ordeal

JOHANNESBURG - The case against an Ethiopian national accused of kidnapping 12 boys in Mulbarton, Johannesburg, has been postponed as police continue their investigations.

The 47-year-old man was arrested on Monday after several half-naked boys were seen fleeing from his home.

He also faces an additional charge of failing to stop when apprehended by police.

Eyewitnesses say the boys — some as young as 15 — appeared panicked and terrified when they were discovered.

At first glance, this seems to be another case of human trafficking.

Investigators are trying to find out how these young Ethiopian victims, who reportedly do not speak English, entered the country.
