Govender admitted to receiving almost R150,000 from Modack in exchange for favours.

That included shielding him from police action and blocking colleagues from investigating him.

The crooked cop has been sentenced to five years, with four-and-a-half of those suspended.

Modack will return to court for sentencing on 8 July.
