JOHANNESBURG - Some in the funeral industry are surprised that the Calgro-owned Nasrec Memorial Park will be closed for the G20 summit weekend.
Funerals have been diverted to the Fourways Memorial Park due to the lockdown at the Nasrec precinct.

"I'm surprised that this has happened because it will affect the funeral industry negatively in a way that bodies will pile up in storage facilities," said Rebecca Nxumalo of the National Funeral Practitioners Association of SA.
"Some families do plan for their funeral arrangements and that would have been the wish of the deceased to say, I want to be buried in this cemetery, maybe at Nasrec, so it will be an inconvenience to the families."
