Roleplayers now have until 31 January to submit their comments.

The consultation paper was published in November, and stakeholders had until the 16th to comment.

Nersa Executive Manager for Electricity, Rhulani Mathebula, said the process of the trading rules has come a long way.

"We have afforded the different stakeholders an opportunity to participate in the development of the rules themselves as a regulator," he said.

"The stakeholders have indicated that they needed a bit of time to ensure that they canprovide meaningful contributions before the regulator finalises the rules."
