New witness at Madlanga

PRETORIA - The Madlanga Commission resumes in Pretoria on Friday with a new witness on the stand.

The testimony will revolve around criminal syndicates and their alleged influence over law enforcement agencies. 

On Thursday, former Hawks boss Godfrey Lebeya denied knowing murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe and rejected claims that he sent officers to interfere with his arrest.

He also explained why Hawks members implicated in the Port Shepstone drug theft were never investigated.  

Senior members, including provincial leadership have been accused of staging the break-in. 500kg of cocaine disappeared from the storage facility. Lebeya said no investigation was conducted during his tenure.
