NMU students fear for their safety after spate of campus deaths

GQEBERHA - South African women are not safe. Whether at home, on the streets, or on campus, they remain vulnerable.

Gender-based violence and femicide pose constant threats.

On Friday, nearly 200 Nelson Mandela University students marched to City Hall for the GBV National Shutdown.

Students say they live in constant fear, even in their residences, especially after the deaths of six fellow students, both male and female, in recent months.
