JOHANNEBSURG - The spokesperson for the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) Phakamile Hlubi-Majola has resigned.
The prominent spokesperson has allegedly been receiving death threats.
Representing one of the country's largest and most influential labour unions, Hlubi-Majola has over the years sat in on various wage negotiations, labour disputes, job losses and other work-related issues for the union.
She was previously an eNCA reporter.
There's been no word yet from Numsa about her resignation.
