JOHANNESBURG - Caiphus Nyoka's family has welcomed the guilty verdict against two apartheid-era police officers for his 1987 murder.
A third officer was acquitted.
Nyoka, a Congress of South African Students leader, was shot and killed at his Daveyton home.
A fourth officer, Johan Marais, pleaded guilty and received 15 years in July.

Yet for the Nyoka family, closure remains elusive; they still have unanswered questions about their son's murder.
The Foundation for Human Rights says there's hope justice will reach all who suffered under apartheid-era injustices.
Both accused officers have been remanded in custody until the 11th December, when the court will determine their bail applications.
