CAPE TOWN - Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan has denied being friends with suspended Deputy National Commissioner of Crime Detection, Shadrack Sibiya.
“I don’t know where he lives. I’ve never been to his house; I’ve never been to a restaurant for a meal with him. We've never had any dealings,” he said.
O’Sullivan appeared before the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee for a second day of his testimony.
He said the only time he ever had a meal with Sibiya was at a braai in Bedfordview in December 2016.

He did not give into details of the said braai.
“I’ve had no other interactions with him, other than work-related,” he added.
O’Sullivan told the Committee he had phoned Sibiya following the 6 July 2025 briefing by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
“He denied everything, and I said to him, ‘I hope you’ve got your version of events to put forward’. He assured me he would be putting his events forward.”
