O'Sullivan: Top SAPS leaders should face justice

CAPE TOWN - Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan has indicated how his highly anticipated testimony at the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee will go.

Arriving at Parliament on Tuesday, O’Sullivan -- who claimed he has been investigating the police for 25 years -- said he hoped his testimony would lay bare the rogue elements within SAPS.

He did not hesitate to say KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, National Commissioner Fanie Masemola and Crime Intelligence boss Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo all belong in jail.

O’Sullivan will finally testify before the Ad Hoc Committee after previously refusing to appear in person, citing security concerns.

“The rogue elements in the SAPS have been a problem for more than 20 years, if I go back to Jackie Selebi. Fifteen generals and 18 brigadiers are facing criminal charges because of the investigations I’ve done," he said.

"And now, we have a couple of rogue generals like Khumalo, Mkhwanazi and Masemola. The gang of three all belong in prison, and hopefully, after I’ve given my evidence, they will start seeing that,” O'Sullivan said before entering the Parliamentary building.
