JOHANNESBURG - Frustration is mounting over the growing driver’s licence card backlog.
The country's only printing machine broke in February.
It was returned to service in May, but has led to a massive backlog.
WATCH: Driver's licences | Card printing machine back in service
Over 700,000 drivers are still waiting for their licences.
The machine can produce a maximum of 19,000 cards per day.
And, with new applications coming in, that means it could take up to 70 days to clear the backlog.
That is if the machine prints at maximum capacity and does not break down.
