Pastor accused of killing 4-month-old baby arrested

JOHANNESBURG - An alleged Gauteng pastor is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate's Court on Monday.

This is in connection with the murder of a four-month-old baby and the rape of her mother.

Officers found the 36-year-old hiding in a back room at an informal settlement in Diepsloot.

Police said the man and his two wives had accompanied the mother and infant to the Hennops River in Pretoria, for a ritual earlier this week.

He had gone ahead with the 43-year-old mother, leaving the baby with his wives.

Police understand that’s when the woman was raped before she managed to escape.

The infant’s body was later discovered in a shallow grave near the river.

The pastor’s two wives have already been arrested, one of them led police to the baby’s body.
