JOHANNESBURG - The Health Professions Council of SA is looking at more proactive ways of dealing with problem doctors.
It comes after a well-known doctor was found guilty of sexual misconduct involving former patients.
It's his second guilty verdict.
The first time, back in 2021, he was suspended for 18 months.
The HPCSA says the current process is too reactive.
"I must say, maybe it is a little more reactive, and we probably have to look for much more proactive methods of identifying problematic practitioners and then make sure they are taken care of," said David Mametja.
