PRETORIA - Police units in Pretoria have responded to a hostage situation at a house in Mamelodi East.
A police constable has reportedly been holding his family hostage since Tuesday morning.
He is believed to have fired two shots before officers arrived at the scene.
The constable is refusing to release his grandmother, nephew and another young boy, who are all inside the house.
Investigators are still probing the motive behind the standoff.
