Police nab two for Khayelitsha girl's murder

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police have arrested two people in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old girl in Khayelitsha.  

The victim sustained head injuries and paramedics declared her dead on scene.

The child went missing on Tuesday night.

A statement released by SAPS in the Western Cape reads, "Following the discovery of the body of a seven year old girl who went missing last night, 22 July 2025, this morning in Nambuzane Street, Kuyasa, Khayelitsha, an integrated SAPS team, comprising of FCS, the Dog Unit, POP, Crime Intelligence and Harare detectives started with an investigation into the murder."

"The biological sniffer dog led the members to an address in Sindwadwa Street, Kuyasa, where the child was last seen. The dog reacted to blood on the mop and blood stains on the floor of the house which is believed to be that of the child." 

"An adult male and female were arrested in connection with the murder this afternoon."

"They are due to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ court on Friday, 25 July 2025."
