JOHANNESBURG - The Police Ministry will release the latest crime stats between April and June this year.
In the last quarter, violent crime went down by over 4 percent, with murder dropping by 9.5 percent.
Dozens of people are killed every day in the country.
Kidnappings, house and business robberies also decreased.
Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia promised that the SAPS wants to press the decline further down,
into a sustained, long reduction in violence and organised criminality across the country.
