Police resume search for missing Joshlin Smith

SALDANHA BAY - Two years after she went missing, police have renewed the search for missing Joshlin Smith.

On Thursday, Diazville residents watched from a distance as police officers accompanied by sniffer dogs combed through bush and a densely vegetated area as efforts to find the missing girl continued.

The then six-year-old Grade 1 pupil disappeared from her Middelpos home on 19 February 2024.

Despite a massive search operation, she has not been found.

Last week, Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie said he had proof Joshlin was alive. McKenzie said he would be presenting the new evidence to the acting police minister.

Last year, Joshlin's mother, Kelly Smith and two others were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for kidnapping and child trafficking.
