Police warn no one may order foreigners to leave SA

JOHANNESBURG - The SAPS has reiterated its call to South Africans to abide by the law.

This amid widespread marches against undocumented migrants.

The police say no individual or grouping has the authority to instruct any person to leave the country.

In a statement, police say matters relating to immigration are governed by the laws of the Republic and are dealt with through the relevant law enforcement and immigration processes.

Members of the public are urged to refrain from spreading inflammatory messages that may fuel tensions within communities.
