Political killings | How ‘playing dead’ saved IFP Gauteng leader’s life

JOHANNESBURG - IFP Gauteng secretary Alco Ngobese survived an assassination attempt through some quick thinking and luck.

He says he's since moved to a private location in fear that the criminals may return to finish the job.

Ngobese explains how he managed to walk away from the attack that killed IFP MP Kheta Sithole.

"I pretended I was dead. I was also praying that it was my last day. I thought they were going to finish me off as well."

He said at least two suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in court on Thursday.

"We are hoping that we'll get to the bottom of this," he said.
