Power grid stability | More capacity to return to service

JOHANNESBURG - The temperatures may have plummeted, but Eskom says the grid remains stable.

The utility plans to return 2,450 megawatts of generation capacity to service.

It says this will further enhance grid stability.

Diesel use is expected to decline as more units return to service from long-term repairs.

The outlook for winter remains the same.

No power cuts are expected if unplanned outages remain below 13,000 megawatts.
