JOHANNESBURG - There is a power shift in ANC politics in the City of Johannesburg.
This comes after Loyiso Masuku defeated incumbent ANC regional chairperson Dada Morero for the ANC top post in the city.
She defeated Morero with 184 votes to 149.
Morero is also the executive mayor of the City of Gold.

However, after Masuku's election on Friday, there are questions about whether Morero will finish his term as mayor until next year's local government elections.
“The issue of deployment as it relates to the executive mayor, if you recall that the [ANC] NEC issued guidelines,” Masuku said.
“The national office bearers are the ones who are the competent structure to deal with the deployment of executive mayors.”
