Preliminary report finds speeding, unroadworthiness behind deadly Limpopo bus crash

MAKHADO - The Transport Department have released a preliminary report into the horrific Limpopo bus crash with killed 43 people.

The report found that speeding and unroadworthiness were major contributing factors in the cause of the accident.

The investigation also confirmed that 91 people were on board the bus which should only accommodate 62 people.

Minister Barbara Creecy has ordered that the bus company be investigated to further consider a culpable homicide complaint.

Meanwhile police have launched an inquiry after large amount of cough mixture medicine was found in the wreckage.
