Parents joined forces with their children to push for a solution to Walmer High School's overcrowding.
The principal reports a staggering 2,487 pupils with just 57 teachers, yet they've managed to achieve a solid matric pass rate of over 90 percent for three consecutive years.
The Eastern Cape Education Department says it's on top of the situation.
It says plans for a new school have been approved and are technically sound and that they're just waiting on the municipality to provide land.
