JOHANNESBURG - Political parties are not only mobilising support for the upcoming local government elections, but they are also raking in millions in donations.
They have declared over R116 million in private donations during the first quarter of the year.
The DA declared the lion's share of it with R104 million.
ActionSA and the Labour Party of South Africa declared over R5 million each.
There are compliance questions about the R15 million the ANC received.
The IEC says not one of the party's donation declarations comply with the Political Funding Act.
