CAPE TOWN - Deputy Defence Minister Bantu Holomisa says the fight against corruption in his department is ongoing.
He says that more than R1-billion has been recovered in connection with corruption and mismanagement.
"The corruption and maladministration have not merely touched the state. They have engulfed it, reaching even into our law enforcement agencies," Holomisa said.
"The rot did not spare the Department of Defence either. That is why we acknowledge the President's decision to sign the proclamation authorising the SIU to investigate these matters and more."
Holomisa said accountability cannot be selective; it must be decisive and it must reach everywhere.
