RAF inquiry | SCOPA to probe fraud, corruption allegations

CAPE TOWN - The inquiry into the beleaguered Road Accident Fund begins in Parliament.

It will look at claims of maladministration and financial impropriety.

It comes after the fund continuously refused to give SCOPA credible information.

Treasury officials and the Auditor-General are among the witnesses expected.

SCOPA chairperson Songezo Zibi, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts Chairperson, said a couple of things necessitated this enhanced oversight by Parliament. 

"People from the RAF are going to give us a sense of how the claims system works," he said.
