JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has hailed South Africa's G20 presidency, saying it will cement the country's role in the global landscape.
Writing in his weekly newsletter, Ramaphosa says South Africa sought to place Africa's growth and development at the heart of the G20 agenda.
Ramaphosa says South Africa secured several commitments from the international community, including addressing the high levels of debt in Africa.

G20 leaders also agreed on the need for increased global investment for climate action, which, according to President Ramaphosa, underscores South Africa's equitable energy transition.
Ramaphosa says this has been a People's G20 and has thanked South Africans for once again showing the spirit of Ubuntu.
