JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has hit back at the US G20 snub, saying it's based on unfounded allegations.

He was addressing the nation on Sunday night, a week after the summit took place.

Ramaphosa says it's unfortunate the US did not fully participate in the first summit on African soil.

He says, however, that many American businesses and organisations did take part.

The President also reminded US President Donald Trump that as a founding G20 member, South Africa will continue playing an active role.
