CAPE TOWN - Members of Parliament are reflecting on former Deputy President David Mabuza's role.
Mabuza died on Thursday in a Sandton hospital, aged 64.
One of his crucial responsibilities was bridging the gap between the legislature and the executive.

National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza said Mabuza executed that responsibility with distinction.
"He was able to engage with Parliamentarians, never shy to come to Parliament when he had to answer questions and respond to members," she said.
"During that period, as the deputy president and as a Member of Parliament, he executed his responsibility very well."
