JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng is targeting road fatalities with a major repair push.
Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela has allocated funds to repair 54 roads.
Priority areas include Krugersdorp, Tshwane, Johannesburg, and Sedibeng.
This as the provincial government is bleeding millions in legal fees due to damage caused by potholes.
It lost over R80-million of its road maintenance budget on court orders and settlements.
Money meant to fix the roads is now diverted to pay legal costs.
