'SA is governed by rule of law, not vigilantism' - NATJOINTS

MOSSEL BAY - South Africa is governed by the rule of law, says NATJOINTS Chairperson, Brigadier Tebello Mosikili.

The country is not governed by intimidation, violence, ultimatums and mob justice.

Mosikili says the government remains in control of the security of the country in upholding the law and constitution.

The NATJOINTS were speaking following incidents of lawlessness that included attacks on foreigners in Mossel Bay.

The police say 166 people in the Free Sate have been arrested for incidents related to public violence.

In the Western Cape, five people have been arrested.

Police are also cracking down on illegal immigration with 35,000 people arrested since the start of this year.

Mosikili warned that those who incite violence, encourage vigilantism, threaten communities, destroy property or undermine public order will face the full consequences of the law.
