JOHANNESBURG - South African investigative journalist Micah Reddy is missing in Djibouti.
Reddy was last heard from on Saturday morning after travelling to the East African country for an assignment.
His local fixer is also believed to be missing.
Reddy's family, colleagues, and media freedom groups are now seeking answers about what happened.
South Africa’s International Relations Department has confirmed it is aware of the disappearance but could not provide further details.
The Committee to Protect Journalists is calling on Djiboutian authorities to clarify the duo's whereabouts and ensure their safety.
Reddy is based in Johannesburg and has previously worked for amaBhungane and the Yemen Times.
