SA military equipment begins return from DRC

JOHANNESBURG - South African military equipment is returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Three SA Air Force Oryx helicopters have already landed at Air Force Base Waterkloof, following months of distress.

Some questioned if we would eventually get all the equipment out safely.

This after SADC ended its troop deployment in the Congo, resulting in the exit of all countries that had sent soldiers.

But not every equipment is out of the conflict-ridden DRC.

SANDF spokesperson, Rear Admiral Prince Tshabalala, said road and boat transport had to be used to get the equipment.
