DURBAN - South Africans are the most generous people in the world.
That's according to a new study by an American financial services company, Remitly.
It polled 4,500 participants from across 25 countries.
The scale assessed behavioural factors such as empathy, emotional support, patience, kindness, and a willingness to prioritise others' needs.
And for our known ubuntu and compassion, we came first followed by the Philippines and the Unites States.
